They will be comfortable plus efficient, making it easier for people to get to their respective destinations.

Dhaka Metro Rail is one of the mega projects for the energetic city of Dhaka in Bangladesh. This groundbreaking project presents a new and effective transport system intended to make the journey of its inhabitants faster and easier. Metro Rail call for the establishment of train tracks which are fixed stations which help in the faster means of transport.
The main goal of this project is to solve the chronic issue of traffic jams in Dhaka, as well as improve the quality of life of people who have to commute daily. Metro trains themselves are comfortable and efficient to guarantee the people’s transportation needs in the complex city environment.
In other words, Dhaka Metro Rail is a step closer to a better, more structured life in a city, where people will be able to travel less time and where the general population will be able to have better, easier access to everything.
Metro Rail Paragraph for SSC
The Metrorail is a rapid transit system in Bangladesh, which is the capital of Dhaka. Of which the construction was planned in 2013 for addressing traffic congestion problem in densely populated Dhaka city. The company managing it is Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited. Initially, there were proposed 3 metro rail lines, but in 2016 the number of proposed lines was raised to 5. The first line, MRT Line 6, from Uttara to Motijheel, is 21.26 km long and the first line was selected for construction. Construction of the project started on June 26, 2016.
DMTCL and JICA plan to construct 6 metro lines of 128 km by 2030 with 51 elevated stations and 53 underground stations. Altogether these lines can transport 4.7 million passengers per day.
The Dhaka Metrorail partially began its operation on 28th December 2022 with the Diabari to Agargaon segment of MRT Line 6. It was commissioned by the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, who also became the first official trip of the train.
It was officially launched for public on December 29, 2022, and at the first phase it was serving only Uttara North (Diabari) and Agargaon stations. Pallabi station was commissioned on 25th January, 2023. Every station from Uttara to Agargaon was complete by the end of March.
Metro Rail Paragraph for HSC
DMR or Dhaka Metro Rail is a rapid transit system that will operate over 63 km in Dhaka the capital city of Bangladesh. It is one of the quickest, comfortable, and efficient means to get around the city of Dubai. This type of train system is common in most cities of the world.
DMR is 20 km long and has 16 stations connecting Uttara and Motijheel in Dhaka. These are stations that are constructed by concrete structures and have large pillars, and they are established at appropriate stations in the city.
The inaugural operation started from Uttara to Agargaon on 28th December, 2022 and from Agargaon to Motijheel on 4th November, 2023. There are six coaches in each train though the interior is well spaced with comfortable air conditioned and well-spaced seats.
This site also has a separate section for women. In Uttara-Motijheel route, 14 trains would be available where each train can accommodate 942 seated passengers and 574 standing passengers.
Thus, it may be said that Metro Rail has begun playing a positive role in controlling the heavy traffic in Dhaka, and lesser chances of air pollution and time consumption of passengers. Metro Rail is easy to use: The passengers are able to purchase ticket, get into the train and alight at the desired station. This development is a great success for Bangladesh.

Dhaka Metro Rail can therefore be seen as a dream project of the current government like the monumental Padma Setu. This mega project will be 20 km long and will link Uttara with Motijheel through 16 stations such as Mirpur and Shahbagh.
It has an expenditure of Rs 20,000 crore, which is a record spending by the government headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It has been implemented since June 2016 and is set to be commissioned in December 2022, an event which was presided over by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.
